Meeting about Cherokee Village Arkansas annexation plans was held on Oct 14th

Sutterfield was also concerned with reasons why the city wanted to annex the area into the city's boundaries. Jerry Adams with Cherokee Village Planning and Zoning Committee advised Sutterfield the city would like to clean up the boundaries, increase the population to over 5,000, allowing the city more turnback funds, as well as creating revenue for the city through an Advertising and Promotions Tax on rentals from tourism.

Don't you mean Cherokee Acres, one of the white areas?

Yes, sorry. My mistake. Do you know of the status of Cherokee Acres at this point? For those who don't know, it is a large mountain-top parcel within Cherokee Village that originally was a hold-out owner when Cooper first developed. It still lies within the Village but is not technically a part of CV. The issue is that it still uses CV services such as fire and police.

Does anyone out there really know the full story about Cherokee Acres? What happened and why did the owner hold out on Mr. Cooper?
